Year 2

Welcome to Year 2's learning zone. In the event of the school being closed, please find below work for your child to do at home. Please check this page regularly for updates. You can message me on Class Dojo if you have any questions and I would love to receive photos showing me how the children are getting on. 

  • Children will be set new spellings each Monday to be tested at home on Friday.
  • Work has been assigned on Mathletics for the children to access. Click here to sign in.
  • Some work booklets and comprehension sheets were sent home for the children to complete in case you have problems accessing a computer. 
  • If you are unable to download and print worksheets, please work from the computer screen and write answers on a sheet of paper.
  • Daily morning workout with Joe Wicks live stream at 9:00. Click here

Easter holiday activities

Please find below a selection of activities to help keep the children entertained over the Easter holidays. I also sent home some Easter themed maths and English activities two weeks ago in their book bags. I will begin posting formal lesson plans again week commencing Monday 20th April.

Recognise that mass (weight) is measured using the symbol g for gram and Kg for kilogram.

Read the text about Horrid Henry and Moody Margaret then answer the questions. Remember to give a full sentence answer using capital letters and full stops where needed.

To be able to follow instructions and bake using chocolate as one of the ingredients.

To use scales to weigh out the ingredients.

Evaluate what you have made by tasting.

 

Baking with chocolate . This will be subject to the ingredients you have available at home. Options may be cupcakes, fairy cakes, chocolate rice crispy cakes, chocolate brownies, rocky road etc. Look at the scales carefully when weighing out ingredients (linked to maths and reading scales). Follow the instructions carefully and spot the bossy verbs/commands.
