Uniform Policy

Jewellery
For health and safety reasons we do not allow pupils to wear jewellery at school. The exceptions to this rule are ear-ring studs in pierced ears and small objects of religious significance.
Pupils are required to remove any items of jewellery during PE lessons to prevent them from causing injury. Please note: staff are not permitted to remove earrings.
If parents/carers are considering having their child’s ears pierced, we would request that this is done at the start of the summer holidays. This will allow the ears to heel so that earrings can be removed for PE lessons.
Watches
Wrist watches or fitness trackers may be worn, but only for the purpose of telling the time and/or counting steps. ‘Smart’ watches and fitness trackers linked to mobile phones are not permitted.
Hair Accessories
Hair bands, ribbons/bows or ‘scrunchies’ should be plain and either burgundy, blue, black or white in colour. Hair bands should not have large flowers attached.
Make-up and Nail Varnish
Make up and nail varnish should not be worn to school.
Hairstyles
Extreme hairstyles are not appropriate for school.
The use of styling products should be kept to a minimum and pupils should not have decorative patterns or ‘tram lines’ cut into their hair or have their hair coloured or dyed with extreme colours.
For health and safety reasons and to ensure it does not distract from learning, we advise that long hair be tied back.
Footwear
For health and safety reasons we do not allow pupils to wear shoes with platform soles or high heels. All pupils are required to wear plain black shoes without logos as stated in the uniform list.
Please do not send pupils to school wearing canvas shoes, loose slip-ons or trainers.
Please only send your child to school in lace-up shoes when they are able to tie their own laces.
Clothing
Trousers must be school uniform style – not jeans material, skinny, leggings, jeggings or baggy.
Shorts must be school uniform style and approximately knee length.
Skirts should be about knee length.
Only plain white, grey or black socks (not multi-coloured or patterned) or grey or black tights should be worn to school.
Uniform for Pupils entitled to Pupil Premium
All pupils who are eligible for pupil premium are entitled to a pack of uniform each academic year, which includes a polo shirt; sweatshirt/cardigan; PE t-shirt; PE shorts and a PE bag.Parents/carers of pupils entitled to free school meals, should complete an order form and return it to the School Office in confidence.
Book Bags
When a child joins the school, they will receive a book bag free of charge. When pupils move up from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2, they will each be given a KS2 book bag free of charge.
The Friends of School kindly provide the book bags for new pupils and the pupils moving into Key Stage 2.
