School's 'Clopen'!

Wednesday 8th April

There were 8 children in school today.  They all continued with the Easter fun tackling Easter puzzles and tasks.  As the sun was shining, the children enjoyed being outside building dens.

Tuesday 7th April

Today, with five children at school, we had lots of Easter fun!  The children made Easter chocolate Krispie Cakes with a little egg on top, an Easter wreath, an Easter basket with little eggs in and did some Easter colouring.  In the afternoon, the children went on the hunt for some wool which was hidden around the school field.

Monday 6th April

For the start of the Easter Holidays in school, we had 6 children arrive.  They began their morning with a Joe Wicks' Workout followed by a variety of Easter activities which helped them to explore the Easter Story.  In the afternoon, the children planted some flowers in the newly revealed outdoor play area which has been given a bit of a make-over in the past few days.

Friday 3rd April

13 children arrived today.  The children spent the morning digging away creating flower beds for flowers to be planted next week.  In the afternoon, Mr Middleton supervised everyone building and starting their own mini bonfires.

Thursday 2 April

Year 6 have been finishing the instructions to write a scratch game and completed some activities on Mathletics  Year 4 did a times tables test. Year 5 made a power point about the film Lighthouse. This afternoon we made mould from clay and filled them with plaster, when they are dry we will paint them.  By Grace and Phoebe

Wednesday 1 April

There was much celebration when Joe Wicks disappeared form the screen this morning – was it an April fool?  For some members of the school community this was an opportunity to rest, while others are working out a routine to send to Joe that involves lying on a mat for 30 min. Then it was back to work, with lots of reading and maths going on. The afternoon was spent using Lego to make models and program them to move in some way. The drum playing money was particularly impressive. In free time there has been some amazing den making.

Tuesday 31st March

We had a large school today with some new visitors. We are becoming fitter doing Joe Wicks' workout we were joined by the office staff which meant the hall was nearly full. Online learning took place with some individual work on reading and spelling. Mrs Jolly is continuing to provide an excellent lunch, for some the highlight of the day. The afternoon was science based; the task was to make a burglar alarm that when off, when you stood on a mat.

Monday 30th March

Today it was a Key Stage 2 day, with five hard working members of the school community.

We started with Joe Wicks' workout with the pupils showing they were more flexible than the staff, but with less stamina. The online learning was very successful this morning with chapters being read of Kensuke's Kingdom and comprehension activities completed.  The afternoon was kite making, It was hard to video but there are some photos, before the rain came.

The day started as usual; with Joe Wicks' workout and then onto the online learning.  In the afternoon, the children turned their hand to knitting or mosaic art.

Thursday 26th March

Today, 9 children arrived and 4 members of staff.  After our Joe Wicks workout, it was to the computers and everyone got on with the online learning.  At lunch time, the children had a yummy roast dinner and then played football.  Even Miss Newark played and scored a goal!

The afternoon was full of hunting for different objects in the school grounds and taking photos, planting seeds and even a bit of outdoor play.

Wednesday 25th March

10 children arrived at school today and 4 members of staff.  We've been doing Joe Wicks' PE lesson every morning so far and today was no different.  We got the mats out, wiped them down, did our workout and then wiped the mats down again...whilst remaining (as much as possible) two metres apart!  Are you all doing your daily PE workout with Joe Wicks?

We all had so much fun and felt much happier after doing the exercise.

Tuesday 24th March

We had 15 children in school today and 6 members of staff.  As soon as the children arrived, they began drawing around their shadows.  Key Stage 2 also measured their shadows.  This was the start of their investigation into:

What was our investigation on...?

Here are Key Stage 2 explaining their findings:

Monday 23rd March
