Equality Objectives

At Sir Robert Hitcham CEVAP School our objective is to develop a culture of inclusion, in which all those connected to the School feel proud of their identity and able to participate fully in school life. The achievement of all children will be monitored and we all tackle discrimination by the positive promotion of equality, challenging bullying and stereotypes and creating an environment which champions respect for all. We believe that diversity should be respected and celebrated by all those who learn, teach and visit here.

Public Sector Equality Duty

Our Equalities policy and Equalities Action Plan outline how the School promotes and develops equality of access and provision.

The School Council led the review of the Equalities Policy in 2018. The key principles from the updated policy were shared with pupils in a simplified version in Assembly. This version can be found here and the full version is in our policies section.

The Equalities Action Plan outlines how the policy is put into practice through regular monitoring and also includes planned changes. Routine actions include half termly Pupil Progress Meetings and regular meetings with the Education Welfare Officer to monitor the progress or attendance of groups of pupils. Planned changes include regular reviews of the curriculum and a revised sports offer for SEND pupils.
