We are seeking a Caretaker, who is reliable, conscientious, a good team member and self-motivated, to join our team of dedicated staff. Our whole school community has a strong ethos of care and support, which is underpinned by our strong Christian values.
This is a permanent position for 15 hours per week, 52 weeks per year [3 hours Monday to Friday during term time - 6.30am to 9.30am or 7.00am to 10.00am]. Hours during school holidays are flexible with prior agreement.
Salary: £23,114 to £23,893 per annum pro rata (£11.98 to £12.38 per hour).
Our Caretaker plays a key role in ensuring that the physical environment is a place where our children feel safe, comfortable and ready to learn. You will have a good basic knowledge of buildings maintenance, together with patience, resilience and a genuine wish to make a difference to the lives of our children.
Main responsibilities would include:
- unlocking the building at the start of the school day;
- regular health and safety checks;
- other site maintenance and caretaking tasks;
- minor repairs; and
- regular grounds maintenance (summer months).
There may be a requirement to unlock and lock up for lettings in the evenings, so flexibility is essential. These hours would be paid in addition to the annual salary at time and a half.
This can be a physically demanding role and does require a child friendly approach.
In return, we can offer:
- employee benefits including pensions, well-being service and cycle2work scheme;
- flexible working hours during school holidays, by prior agreement;
- a wide range of professional development opportunities; and
- a supportive working environment.
