Online Safety
At Sir Robert Hitcham CEVAP School we are committed to ensuring that our children have the skills and understanding to be able to use the internet confidently and safely and we make sure that internet safety is explicitly taught.
Our Online Safety Lead in School is Mrs Laura Dumolo.
With more and more mobile phones allowing access to the internet and various apps, mobile phones are not allowed in school. Pupil who do bring their phone to school must leave it in the office on arrival and collect it at the end of the day. Any mobile phone which is found in school, not following this procedure, will be confiscated and will need to be collected by a parent/carer. This is to ensure that safety of all pupils and staff.
The School has subscribed to Parent Info, which provide a collection of articles, tips, expert advice and resources designed to help parents keep up with what their children are doing online.
Parent Info is a collaboration between Parent Zone, which has been providing information and support to parents for a decade, and CEOP, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection command of the National Crime Agency.
National Online Safety has a whole school community approach to online safety providing training courses and resources for teachers, parents and children. #WakeUpWednesday can be accessed on Facebook or Twitter.
